HOUSTON – Roaches and gnats at several places in this week's Restaurant Report Card.
Tornado Taco at 9101 Long Point Road: Health inspectors found a gnat infestation in the dry storage room. Inspectors said the restaurant must clean it up.
The Subway at 101 West El Dorado in Houston is dealing with vermin. Health inspectors found both live and dead roaches in the kitchen, ordered restaurant to correct immediately.
The Kolache Factory at 17739 Tomball Parkway in Houston is not doing any better.
Inspectors found a roach inside a cabinet under the soda machine.
Two restaurants were not following protocol when it comes to handling ready-to-eat foods. An employee at What-A-Burger #141 at 8941 Long Point was not using gloves or a utensil to handle foods.
An employee at Murphy's Deli at 1900 North Loop West was not using gloves when slicing meats and cheeses.
Two restaurants that didn't have any issues this week: Sushi Miyagi at 10600 Bellaire Blvd., and Dolce Gelato in the 5000 block of West Alabama. Both had spotless inspections.
