Vehicles damaged when thieves target car dealership

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A car dealership in The Woodlands fell prey this past weekend to thieves who stole expensive tires and wheels off of brand-new BMWs.

The crooks targeted three BMW X6 automobiles on the lot of BMW of the Woodlands at 17830 North Freeway.

The cars, worth approximately $70,000 each, were left on concrete blocks the thieves apparently brought with them.

The tire and wheel packages on these cars are worth several thousand dollars per car.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.

"We're cooperating with the Sheriff's Office. They have asked us not to share any details while the investigation is underway," Lonnie Soza, general manager for BMW of The Woodlands, said.

Monday a representative of the Houston Automobile Dealers Association said Monday the incident appeared to be isolated because the organization had not received word of other targeted dealerships
