HOUSTON – A man was accidentally shot to death in a Spring Branch apartment.
According to reports, the victim was inside a unit at a complex in the 9500 block of Longpoint Road and Oak Tree Drive with several other men around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police said a man was playing with a pistol he thought was unloaded when he accidentally fired, hitting the victim in the head.
He was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition, where he later died. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The gun belongs to the apartment renter, investigators said.
Currently, there are no charges in this case. However, the investigation is continuing.
