HOUSTON – A new visitor center and museum in downtown Houston is one step closer to becoming a reality. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday for the Nau Center for Texas Cultural Heritage.

"It will be the first 21st century state of-the-art cultural heritage museum with an adjacent visitor center," John Nau III said. "The combination of the two has never been done."

Developers say the new center will open in time for Super Bowl 2017. The Nau Center will be located between the George R. Brown Convention Center and Minute Maid Park, at the corner of Avenida de las Americas and Capitol Avenue.
