HOUSTON – A Houston man is due in court Friday on charges that he raped both a 14-year-old girl and a 23-month-old baby who are now infected with HIV.
Thirty-three-year-old David Richard Wilson is already a convicted sex offender, sentenced in 2005 to four years in prison for sexually assaulting another teenage girl.
According to charging documents, family members brought the baby to Memorial Hermann in November 2013, where doctors discovered a growth on her genitals. Test results came back positive for HIV, herpes and chlamydia.
A doctor told investigators the girl "had to have been sexually assaulted as evidenced by the presence of three sexually transmitted diseases." Doctors performed reconstructive surgery on her because of damage from infection.
Police obtained STD tests on four people living with the baby but only one, Wilson, came back positive for HIV.
Last month a 14-year-old girl told investigators Wilson was her mother's ex-boyfriend and that they had sex near her high school. The girl said she is pregnant with Wilson's baby. She also tested positive for HIV and herpes.
Wilson is being held without bond at the Harris County Jail. He is charged with sexual assault of a child and super aggravated sexual assault of a child.
