Firefighters respond to 2-alarm fire at apartments in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Houston firefighters responded to a two-alarm apartment complex fire Friday afternoon. 

The Houston Fire Department says it was called out to 11700 Bissonnet St. just after 3 p.m. When firefighters arrived they found four apartments on fire with heavy smoke. They managed to get the blaze under control in 27 minutes and four to six of the apartments are badly damaged.

The Houston Fire Department says the Arson Bureau will investigate the cause. No one was injured but Red Cross was called out to help people who were displaced. 

Traffic will be stopped at Bissonnet Street and South Kirkwood Road while firefighters are on scene.
