Planters recalling peanuts cleaned in unsafe water

HOUSTON – Kraft Foods Group has recalled 3,000 cases of Planters Cocktail Peanuts because they were exposed to water not intended for use during the production process.

There have been no illnesses or complaints about the peanuts, but the company said they should not be eaten.

The recall included Planters Cocktail Peanuts sold in 12 ounce canisters. 

They had a identifying codes of 9-Jan-14 and UPC 2900007212.

The code and date can be found at the bottom of the canister.
The peanuts were processed at a facility in Suffolk, Virginia and shipped to stores across the United States and Puerto Rico.

The recalled nuts should be returned to any store for a full refund.
