Clara Harris Wins Round Against Former Attorney

Judge Rules Documents Must Be Produced

HOUSTON – The woman convicted of killing her cheating husband by running him over with her car won a round in court Monday against her former lawyer, Local 2 reported.

Clara Harris is suing George Parnham, claiming he misused her money. She claims he gave two lawyers personal documents about her assets without her consent.

On Monday, the judge ordered the lawyers turn over the documents.

"We could not have gotten any more relief than we asked for. Judge Wood ordered them to produce the documents and ensures that they sit for their depositions and answer the questions," said Dean Blumrosen, Clara Harris' attorney.

Parnham never provided Harris detailed invoices for how he was using extra funds she paid, according to papers filed in November.

Parnham, according to the filings in Harris County civil court, initially required that Harris pay a $75,000 fee for representing her at the trial court level.

The attorney did not give his client a written agreement. He ended up receiving more than $235,000 over the course of representing Harris, 46.

The next court date was not set.

Harris is serving a 20-year sentence for running over her orthodontist husband, David, with her Mercedes-Benz after finding him with his mistress at a Clear Lake-area hotel in 2002. She is appealing her conviction.
