13-year-old accidentally shoots 11-year-old brother in Brazoria County, officials say

HOUSTON – A 13-year-old boy accidentally shot his 11-year-old brother in the head Friday in Brazoria County, officials said.

The shooting was reported in the 1000 block of County Road 678, right outside Sweeny, Texas.

Officials said the 13-year-old shot his younger brother with a small-caliber handgun. The 11-year-old boy was flown to a hospital by Life Flight and was in stable but critical condition, officials said.

Officials said the shooting appears to have been accidental. The incident is under investigation.
