HOUSTON – For generations, ‘Little House on the Prairie’ has been one of television’s most beloved family stories, and now Netflix is introducing the timeless classic to a whole new generation.
Netflix’s new Little House on the Prairie isn’t a remake of the beloved 1970s television series. Instead, it’s a fresh adaptation inspired by Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic books.
The eight-episode series is told largely through the eyes of young Laura Ingalls, blending heartfelt family drama, frontier adventure, and coming-of-age storytelling.
While it celebrates the hope, resilience, and close-knit family bonds that have made the story a timeless favorite, it also takes a thoughtful look at the realities of pioneer life and offers a broader perspective on the American West, including the experiences of Indigenous communities.
You can start streaming ‘Little House on the Prairie’ starting Thursday, July 9th on Netflix.
