Houston – A new festival is inviting Houstonians to rethink what it means to age.
Great Age on the Green debuts Friday, April 24, at Discovery Green, bringing together music, wellness and community. The free event is designed to celebrate active aging while welcoming guests of all generations.
Iconic daytime TV actress Kate Linder will emcee the event, helping kick things off with a live DJ set before a full lineup of interactive programming. Guests can take part in fitness classes, including a Dance2Thrive session with Houston Ballet, or join in on lawn games like bingo and hula hooping.
The festival also features a wellness speaker series focused on topics like heart health, aging and overall well-being. Organizers say the goal is to inspire connection and encourage people to prioritize their health at every stage of life.
As the day continues, attendees can enjoy live music performances and a standout fashion show celebrating confidence and style at any age. The event is led by Fritz McDonald, whose Great Age Movement focuses on shifting the conversation around aging.
Organizers say Great Age on the Green is about more than just a day of fun. It is about creating a space where people feel empowered, energized and connected, no matter their age.
The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
