Houston Ballet’s Busy Spring: Nutcracker Market, Sons de L’âme & YAGP Finals

HOUSTON – Houston Ballet is launching a packed spring season that brings the arts closer to our city and supports programs that enrich Houston classrooms and stages.

Nutcracker Market SPRING returns to support Houston Ballet

Nutcracker Market SPRING returns April 17–19 at NRG Center, offering nearly 150 merchants with spring and summer finds and a lively community atmosphere. Best of all: 100% of ticket proceeds directly support Houston Ballet’s arts education programming, from the Academy to outreach and community engagement. An intimate international experience: Sons de L’âme

On April 10–11, the company will partner with Asia Society Texas Center to present Sons de L’âme (“Sounds of the Soul”), a rare and intimate international ballet collaboration. This special presentation highlights Houston’s growing role as a destination for global cultural partnerships and gives local audiences a chance to experience work that stretches the boundaries of classical and contemporary dance.

Houston hosts the YAGP Finals for the first time

Perhaps most notably, Houston will welcome the finals of the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) May 10–18 at Wortham Theater Center — the world’s largest student ballet scholarship competition. Hosting more than 2,000 of the most talented young dancers from around the globe, the event cements Houston’s place as an international hub for ballet, arts education and emerging talent. For local families and dance fans, YAGP offers a front-row look at tomorrow’s stars and a chance to celebrate Houston Ballet’s commitment to nurturing the next generation.

A season that matters to Houston

Between the market’s community spirit, a unique international presentation and the prestige of YAGP, Houston Ballet’s spring calendar is both celebratory and consequential. Whether you’re shopping the market, attending Sons de L’âme or cheering at the YAGP finals, each event helps sustain the company’s artistic work and vital education programs.
