HOUSTON – Tony nominated Broadway actress and Billboard Top 5 recording artist Laura Bell Bundy is known for playing the iconic roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and Glinda in Wicked, among many others. Her extensive credits also include more than 100 roles in film and television dating all the way back to her debut in Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular when she was just 9 years old.
Now, Bundy is reuniting with fellow Tony nominee Kerry Butler and Tony Award Winner Marissa Jaret Winokur for The Hobby Center Presents Beyond Broadway Series: ‘Mama I’m a Big Girl Now.’ The three starred together in Hairspray when it first opened on Broadway more than 20 years ago, in 2002.
“It’s almost like you have your high school reunions -- and then you have your Hairspray reunion,” said Bundy of the close bond she has shared with her former cast mates over the years.
‘Mama I’m a Big Girl Now’ includes hit songs from 16 popular Broadway shows you already know and love, plus the stories behind them. It is the first time this trio of leading ladies has performed together on stage in more than 20 years.
There are two shows in Houston: Saturday December 13th at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. For tickets and more information, visit the Hobby Center online.
