Cirque du Soleil OVO returns to Houston, meet Kyle Cragle who has stretched his way to international stages

HoustonCirque du Soleil’s OVO is all about the world of insects and buzzing into the Toyota Center October 2–5, and among the acrobats, contortionists, and colorful characters, one performer holds a special place for Houston. Kyle Cragle, born and raised in Bellaire, is the only Texan in the cast and he’s bringing his extraordinary talent home.

Kyle’s passion began at just nine years old, when his parents took him to see his first Cirque du Soleil show. Already a competitive gymnast at Houston Gymnastics Academy, his natural flexibility set him apart. That gift eventually led him to circus school, where he trained for years before earning a coveted contract with Cirque du Soleil.

Today, Kyle performs as the hand-balancing Dragonfly in OVO, showcasing hand-balancing and contortion in a stunning solo act. He also wears many hats backstage, lending his artistry to the makeup department and helping fellow performers transform into their characters.
