Scaling new heights in Conroe at MoCo climbing gym

Conroe, Texas

Getting fit doesn’t have to mean staying on the ground. At MoCo Bouldering and Fitness in Conroe, every visit is a chance to push limits, build strength, and connect.

Owner and operator Zac Shoulders knows firsthand the power of movement. He started working out with his dad as a teen, wrestled in college, and turned his lifelong passion for fitness into a career as a personal trainer. But it was one client’s invitation to a climbing gym that changed everything.

“I went once and I was hooked, I just fell in love with it immediately” Shoulders said.

MoCo, which is short for Montgomery County and a nod to the local community, offers bouldering walls, a cutting-edge Kilter Board, and group fitness classes; but for Shoulders, it’s more than a workout, it’s an experience.

“People are looking for a different way to work out, people are looking for experience-based fitness,” he explained. “Just going to the gym and hopping on a piece of fitness equipment, it’s great, but it’s just not entertaining, climbing fixes that.”

Whether you’re a first-time climber or a seasoned pro chasing your next big project, MoCo is a place where passion meets progress and where Conroe is reaching new heights, one climb at a time.

“Houston was ready for it — the climbing scene is growing, it’s one of the fastest-growing sports in America,” Shoulders said.

MoCo Bouldering and Fitness has offered people who mention this Houston Life segment 50% off of day passes which are usually $20. Happy Climbing!
