A look at Hermann Park’s newly transformed Commons featuring a variety of fun for all ages

HOUSTON – The Commons at Hermann Park have gotten a makeover!

The project was many years in the making, but it finally made its renovated debut this past weekend.

And from new play areas, to plenty of spots for guests to take in the views, the newly transformed 26-acres of space is sure to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Bordered by the Texas Medical Center, Houston Zoo, Rice University, the Museum District and Innovation District (ION), the Commons will provide a much-needed connector among these dynamic institutions.

The park increased native habitats with the addition of over a thousand trees and ten thousand plants.

For the Park’s younger visitors, unique-to-Houston play experiences will maximize opportunities for learning through play, and encourage exploration and cooperation.

Features of the The Commons include:

- The Play Gardens and Play Landscapes

- Natural Spaces, Conservation, and Sustainability

- Places for Everyone

- And plenty more to come.

Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Hermann Park Conservancy President Doreen Stoller all about the beautiful new edition guests of all ages will love!
