Auntie Anne Beiler tells her story of love, loss, and triumph

Her new cookbook encourages families to gather around the table

Born and raised in the Amish-Mennonite community of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Anne Beiler was surrounded by faith and family. Her and her seven siblings lived with her parents and without missing a beat would gather around the table to eat meals three times a day.

“The table is where we connected. It’s where we learned how to communicate with each other,” according to Beiler. “The table is where we told stories, laughed together, and even sang together.”

Anne would cook with her mother in the kitchen and quickly became a big help in the kitchen. Days with her mom is when she learned how to bake, set the table and learn the importance of homemaking.

Anne went on to marry her childhood crush, Jonas Beiler. The pair lived their happy lives until tragedy in 1975. Their 19-month-old daughter, Angela Joy was killed in a farming accident.

In her 20s, Anne found herself joined us in a world of darkness, depression and on the brink of suicide. Out of her pain, came purpose and the desire to preserver towards success, personally and professionally.

Anne joined us on Houston Life to tell us about the highs, the lows and the journey to founding the largest pretzel chain in the world.

Anne’s newest book ‘Come to the Table’ is out now. She will be signing copies at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land on January, 28th from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M.
