Young actress Kyrie McAlpin, who is nominated for the first ever Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, joined the team in the studio.

The 11-year-old Houston native is up for Outstanding Younger Voice Performer for playing Emma on Apple TV+’s pre-school animation series “Doug Unplugs.” The ceremony is happening on December 11 in Los Angeles.

She discussed how she found out about the nomination and also chatted about her latest project: the new BET+ holiday movie BLACKJACK CHRISTMAS, premiering December 15.

The movie, who follows the lives of two sisters – one who migrated to the US, while the other stayed behind in their native Jamaica- is written and directed by Victoria Rowell, known as Drucilla from the soap opera ‘‘The Young and the Restless.”

Kyrie can also be seen in the 2022 Disney+ family movie “Cheaper by the Dozen” alongside Gabrielle Union.
