Rockets legend Calvin Murphy announced as 2023 Houston Sports Authority Hall of Fame class
HOUSTON – A few local legends are celebrating a BIG recognition - they’ve just been selected for the Houston Sports Hall of Fame!
The Harris County Houston Sports Authority just announced their new 2023 class will include Houston Oiler offensive lineman, Bruce Matthews, along with two Houston Rockets -- Elvin Hayes and Calvin Murphy.
The HCHSA concluded its 25th anniversary celebration with the official unveiling of the Hall of Fame Fountain at the GreenStreet Promenade last Thursday, along with the announcement of the 2023 Houston Sports Hall of Fame Class.
Local artist, Opie Otterstad, even designed a mosaic art installation for the fountain to serve as a focal point for the Houston Sports Walk of Fame.
