Halloween safety tips from Crime Stoppers of Houston

HOUSTON – This Sunday little ghouls and goblins will be roaming around the neighborhood for a night of trick-or-treating fun.

But how can we make this a safe occasion for our children?

Rania Mankarious, Executive Director with Crime Stoppers of Houston, shared with Houston Life her tips for a danger-free Halloween including when is it okay to let a child go alone for treats.

Mankarious also stressed taking additional safety precautions when going out on October 31st.

“Remember Halloween is the most dangerous day for pedestrians with the highest number of pedestrian accidents and fatalities. Please make sure you and your children are mindful of where you are going. Wear reflective tape if necessary so you can be spotted at night. And don’t forget to walk on sidewalks.
