HOUSTON – Steven Vargas Jr., is a local baker who works two jobs in town.
Not only is he a baker at The Post Oak Hotel At Uptown Houston, but he also owns a bakery called 4th Street Cakes.
And now... Steven is adding the Food Network to that list.
He is currently a contestant on Halloween Baking Championship.
Stephanie Gonzalez stopped by his job to learn more about this competition and his baking career.
"An hour and a half never felt so short. That was the scariest thing about the competition. It wasn't the baking or the challenges or twists... but the clock," Steven said.
Did we mention that Steven is competing for a big prize of $25,000?
Regardless, he thrives under pressure and always knows how to keep it calm.
"I was 12 when I began baking and I grew up in a restaurant," Steven added.
