Meet the wildlife of Madagascar

How your trip to the Houston Zoo supports conservation efforts

HOUSTON – These animals may look small, but they play a huge role in the forests of Madagascar.

From hissing cockroaches to tenrecs and even a hognose snake, all of these creatures work together to create a thriving environment for the wildlife there.

"Without the forests, all of these incredible creatures would not have anywhere to live," said Jackie Wallace, director of public relations with the Houston Zoo.

The Houston Zoo is committed to conservation efforts and saving wildlife in places like Madagascar.
