Brave cancer survivor takes off wig on live TV

"It was a huge decision for her to do this, and it's such an honor."

HOUSTON – The cast and crew of Houston Life shared a special moment on set with a local cancer survivor this week.

Velvet Quatermont finished cancer treatments two months ago.

She stopped by the studio with her niece and blogger Michelle Hammons to be part of a segment focused on beauty tips for cancer patients.

Hammons started demonstrating how to do head wraps with a wig.

When it was time to show another headscarf look, Quatermont unexpectedly removed her wig in front of our cameras.

"It was a huge decision for her to do this, and it's such an honor," said Hammons, known as the Beauty Life Coach to her many followers in social media.
