Ooh La La Gingerbread


Ooh La La Royal Icing



6#                    sugar, confectioners

1 c                   meringue powder

2 T                   corn syrup

4 T                   vanilla extract

1.5 c                warm water

as needed                    food color

For flooding:

1.25 c              warm water



Mix sugar and meringue powder for 2 minutes in mixer:

Add corn syrup and vanilla and mix until incorporated

Add water and mix for five minutes (For Flooding add additional water to texture needed)

1 ¼ cup of water



Ooh La La Gingerbread Dough



5 oz                  butter, softened

1 c                   sugar, brown

1 ea                 egg

1/3 c                molasses

2 ½ c                flour, all purpose

2 T                   baking soda

½ t                   salt

2 t                    cinnamon

1 T + 2 t           ginger, ground



Mix wet ingredients in a mixing bowl

Combine dry ingredients

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients slowly until incorporated

Refrigerate for 1 hour

Roll Dough to 1/4-1/2 inch thick

Cut dough into shapes and allow to come to room temperature

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, flip pan and bake 10 more minutes
