This is not the Dallas Arboretum autumn pumpkin event, but it has all its vibes -- in Fort Bend County

RICHMOND, Texas – If you’re looking for a great pumpkin photo-op, but don’t want to drive all the way to the Dallas Arboretum to get it, there are pumpkins in scores for your background pleasure this fall in Fort Bend County.

I’m always looking for a great place to take photos of my kiddos and was pleasantly surprised to see a photo of a pumpkin-covered cottage in my feed -- and it’s just down the road, instead of hours on the road to Dallas. What a great option. Sorry, not sorry, Dallas.😁

Pumpkin Palooza is Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. at Enchanted Gardens in Richmond at 6420 FM 359 Road.

Peggy May, marketing and buying manager at the nursery, said she is expecting about 1,000 to 2,000 customers for the event, which will include these attractions -- in addition to that pumpkin house photo-op:

  • Kids craft from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Seasonal Mommy will be offering face painting 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Hunter Beans Coffee Roasters will serve from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Carri’s Snowballs will serve from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Examples of scarecrows and scarecrow kits, as well as specialty pumpkins for purchase.

Oct. 7, is the official opening day, but May said the business leaves it up until after Halloween.

“We love creating cool things for our customers to enjoy,” May said. “I think this will be mobbed! We hope our customers will get out and enjoy the fall weather. If they have never been to Enchanted Gardens, it will be a fun day to come and see all we have to offer.”
