In the Uber app, riders will be able to schedule a ride anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 days in advance.

These scheduled rides will be immediately available to all Business Profile and Uber for Business users. Business profiles can be created within an existing Uber account by anyone with a work email address, so they can separate work and personal rides.

The feature will open up to all riders in coming weeks.

To use this feature, select uberX and tap “Schedule a Ride” then schedule the date, time, location, and destination. Press “Schedule uberX,” and the ride will be set. The ride can be cancelled any time before the rider is on their way.

Uber will send trip reminders 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of the scheduled pickup, and riders will be notified when the driver is on their way and if any surge pricing applies at that time.

Without a surge, pricing for scheduled rides will be the same as a normal uberX ride.

Riders can sign up here to be the first to try it out.
