As Seen on TV Tuesday: Putting the Woof Washer 360 to the test

If you've got dogs, you know bathing those fur babies can be a messy job. They either love or or hate it. Either way, you're probably getting wet too. Consumer expert Amy Davis has a product that claims less mess and less stress on this "As Seen on TV Tuesday."

The Woof Washer 360 sells for $20. It looks like a hula hoop with water jets that spray inside. Channel 2 morning producer Frank Espinoza has six dogs. We took the contraption to his house to try on his pooches. Espinoza usually bathes them one at a time in his shower with a hand-held shower head, a process that he says can get messy.

"You have to get all around them and then they move and splash away," Espinoza explained.

He was intrigued by the claims on the Woof Washer 360 commercial.
"The amazing new dog washing sensation that washes your dog in less than a minute," the announcer says in the ad.

The setup was simple. Frank filled the Woof Washer reservoir with his dog's shampoo, attached his water hose and turned it on. He picked medium-sized Sasha to try out the product. Sasha didn't seem to take well to her new role as guinea pig at first, as she tried to wrestle away, but once Espinoza got her into the Woof Washer, she was much more relaxed.

"It probably does feel like a little massage for her," Espinoza said.

There is a nozzle you can turn to switch from shampoo to rinse. While it was all fairly easy, Espinoza still used his hands to really get the soap into Sasha's fur and skin. We didn't time the whole wash, but if you only rinsed and sudsed up your dog, then rinsed again for "one minute" like the commercial claims you can, their wash would be fairly perfunctory. Sasha would still be dirty. In the end, she got clean and the Woof Washer got a better than average review from Espinoza and Sasha.

"I thought it would be easier (than using the shower head in the shower); and it kind of was," explained Espinoza.

He said he would pay $20 for the Woof Washer, but only as an occasional alternative to washing his pooches in the shower when they're too dirty to bring through the house.
