Houston Art Bike Festival

Did you know the month of May represents Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and National Bicycle Safety Month? This weekend is a great time to not only practice safety, but also attend a very fun event. The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art and Houston Parks Board will hold the Houston Art Bike Parade & Festival this Saturday. The day long event will promote art, health, and wellness. The parade lineup will begin at 9 am. Since the event is expected to last until 1 pm, be sure to look out for event goers and take it slow on the roads if you are traveling on the south side.

Big Weekend Closures

Heading to the fun? Plan accordingly! You could run into one of the big weekend closures while you travel to and from the event. Here are the closures you can expect:

  • SOUTH SIDE: The 610 south loop will be closed heading westbound from Scott St to SH-288. This closure will begin Friday at 9 pm and continue through 9 pm Saturday.
  • LEAGUE CITY: SH-3 heading southbound from Houston Ave to Landolt will be closed Friday night through 5 am Sunday.
  • FORT BEND COUNTY: The westbound feeder of US-90 at SH-99 will be closed 9 am – 5 pm Friday to Sunday.

Have a great weekend!
