Employee shot outside of SW Houston nightclub

HPD: Shooting stems from slap two weeks ago

HOUSTON – A nightclub employee was shot outside of a southwest Houston nightclub early Friday morning.

Around 4 a.m., police were called to the "Dreams" nightclub on Crossview Drive near Westhiemer Road.

Houston Police said the men were arguing over a slapping incident two weeks ago.

The shooter claimed the victim slapped his son and he wanted revenge, investigators said.

The two men were walking out of the club when they started arguing. The man whose son was slapped pulled out a gun and shot the other man, detectives said.

The victim was hit in the arm and abdomen. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspected gunman was arrested and charges were pending on Friday morning.

Bullet casings were found in front of the nightclub, and bullet holes were found in the front door of the building.

Police will also be looking at club surveillance video to see if it provides more clues in the case.
