Suspect in hour-long police chase held on $100K bond

Prosecutors: Meth, heroin found in stolen truck

HOUSTON – The man who was arrested after an hour-long police chase Friday afternoon was ordered held in jail on $100,000 bond Monday morning.

Houston police said Mark Williams led authorities on a high-speed chase in a stolen truck. The chase started in the 10300 block of McGallion Road, wound north into Montgomery County and ended with a three-vehicle crash in northern Harris County.

During Monday's hearing, Williams appeared in a wheelchair.

Prosecutors said police found methamphetamine, heroin and unused .40-caliber rounds in the truck Williams was driving.

Williams was on probation in Missouri for a charge of possessing a controlled substance, prosecutors said.
