Suspect faces murder charges after being arrested in connection with Fort Bend shooting

Deshaun Karone Jones was arrested at a house in Houston by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offender’s Task Force. The arrest was made without incident.

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A 19-year-old Houston man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting incident in Fort Bend County.

Jones faces a charge of murder and is in the Fort Bend County Jail under a $250,000 bail set by District Judge Maggie Jaramillo.

Jones remains in the Fort Bend County Jail.

The victim, Ali Abdelmaji, 17, was found dead of gunshot wounds in the 16200 block of Pasadero around 8 a.m. on Jan. 30. The investigation determined Abdelmaji was shot during a robbery at the location several hours earlier. It was the second time Abdelmaji was robbed and shot in the past two months.

On Dec. 6, Abdelmaji was taken to the Texas Medical Center for gunshot wounds. John Michael Pierce, 21, was arrested on Dec. 10 and Ricardo Castillo, 24, was arrested on Dec. 15 in connection with that aggravated robbery.
