HOUSTON – A man was shot during an attempted robbery outside a southwest Houston night club Friday.
Police said a thief approached a man at his car outside Metropolis Night Club on Richmond Avenue at Fondren Road around 1:30 a.m. and demanded cash.

The man struggled with the thief and refused to hand over the money, investigators said. The victim was shot twice before the suspect got away.
The victim was taken to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious but stable condition.
His name was not released.
