Houston is going from sunny to stormy next week. This pattern change comes as a high-pressure system is pushed out and a cold front moves through the country.

Monitoring this Front

The wettest time period for Houston will be late Tuesday into Wednesday. This timing may change so stay connected as we continue to iron out the details.

Wet mid-week

Now, this time of year, it can be hard to get fronts to move all the way through the southeast Texas coast, so we’ll have to watch and wait to see if the front stalls or slows down. The pace of the front not only determines timing but also how much rain falls where.

Right now, the highest rainfall totals are positioned north of Harris County. Harris County will receive rain, which will help reduce drought conditions.

The flood risk is low but not zero, so watch for street flooding and minor flooding in poor drainage areas.
