First day of spring is more like summer in Houston: Check out what will bring record heat

High heat for the last weekend of Rodeo Houston

Friday’s Forecast:

Friday is the first day of Spring, and we will see equal parts daylight and darkness. Although spring is here, we won’t see one spring shower in southeast Texas; instead, it is dry and hot.

Spring begins

Friday morning starts with fog and 60s. By the afternoon, temperatures warm fast, hitting the 80s.

Record Heat on the way:

The heat doesn’t stop there! Thanks to a high-pressure system, we’ll be a few degrees shy of 90s by Friday. Make sure to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

We’re going to be under the influence of a very strong area of high pressure across the western US into the weekend that will push our temps into the upper 80s, feeling more like early June!

According to the folks at Mayo Clinic, dehydration can sneak up on you faster than the summer because you underestimate the warmer weather in spring compared to the summer.
