HOUSTON – Brrrr! It's freezing outside. Literally.
Temperatures will be in the upper 20s and low 30s through sunrise. The good news is the wind has gone calm so wind chilly effects are minimal.
This morning won't have the same raw feeling that Tuesday did, with the strong north wind.
Temperatures will warm-up into the low 50s for Tuesday afternoon.
Here are some of the watches and warnings in effect:
- Hard freeze warning for Montgomery, Walker, Grimes and Polk counties through 8 a.m.
- Freeze warning for Harris, Galveston, Liberty, Ft. Bend and Brazoria counties until 9 a.m.
As the day goes on, clouds will begin to stream in again from the west.
A system brings rain back late Wednesday into Thursday, with showers on and off through most of the morning.
Thursday morning should be in the low 40s, so while streets will be wet, we're not expecting any icy roads. Highs will again be in the low 50s.
Temperatures will moderate through the second half of the week, and we'll see more sunshine heading into the weekend.
