HOUSTON – The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for a second night from midnight to 8 a.m. Wednesday for the majority of Southeast Texas.
It is important to bundle up, but keep in mind it is not safe to place a child in a car seat while they are wearing a coat. Parents should remove bulky coats before placing kids in their car seats to ensure they are safely secure.
Although it is another cold morning, Wednesday will be another sunny day.
Sunshine will make temperatures in the upper 50s, which are below average for this time of the year, easier to take it. Temperatures will continue to warm up for the end of the work week.
The 70-degree weather returns for Thursday into the weekend, but the warmer weather comes with the return of rain chances.
Only stray showers are expected Thursday and Friday, but a stronger cold front Saturday could bring in a round of stronger thunderstorms.
The strongest storms look to be northeast of Houston but with this being the start to severe weather season, it is important to watch the forecast closely.
