Rain clears out just in time for New Year's Eve celebrations

HOUSTON – Rainy weather is forecast as 2018 comes to an end.

Here’s a look at how the weather will play out during the final hours of 2018:

New Year’s Eve

It was a wet start to the last day of 2018 but gloomy weather will move out just in time to bring in 2019.

Morning rain and fog will clear up by lunch., and people can expect partly cloudy skies Monday afternoon with temperatures in the low 60s.

Umbrellas will not be needed Monday night but jackets are a good idea. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s to low 50s at we ring in the new year.

New Year’s Day

Some sunshine will return during the first day of 2019. There will be partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 60s Tuesday afternoon.

Dry weather will not last long. Clouds and showers will move in Tuesday night. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain going into Wednesday and temperatures will only climb into the middle 50s for highs.
