Blue skies, sunshine Monday

Friday starts off nice and cool with temperatures in the upper 50s to mid-60s under clear skies.

The afternoon offers sunny skies, dry northeast wind from 5 to 10 mph and highs topping out in the mid-80s.

A perfect fall-like weekend is on tap with more sunshine, lows in the mid-60s, highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Hurricane Irma has weakened slightly, but is still a strong Category 4 hurricane with 155 mph winds barreling toward south Florida by late Saturday night. Hurricanes Jose and Katia will stay away from the US and pose no threat to southeast Texas.
