Tropical system prompts changes to cruises along Gulf Coast

HOUSTON – The developing tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico prompted Carnival on Tuesday to change some of the cruises leaving from Galveston and New Orleans.

Officials at the cruise line said that two itineraries were affected.

Below are the new itineraries from Carnival:

Carnival Valor, five-day cruise from Galveston

June 17 – Galveston
June 18 – At sea
June 19 – Progreso (Merida)
June 20 – Cozumel
June 21 – At sea
June 22 – Galveston

Carnival Triumph, five-day cruise from New Orleans

June 19 – New Orleans
June 20 – At sea
June 21 – Progreso (Merida)
June 22 – Cozumel
June 23 – At sea
June 24 – New Orleans
