Heat, humidity continues as we track the tropics

HOUSTON – Monday morning will be warm and humid, with temperatures in the 80s and partly cloudy skies.

Temperatures will rise quickly, heating up to 96 by 4 p.m. The feels-like temperatures will soar to the triple digits.
There is a 20 percent chance of showers from noon through 8 p.m.

Rain chances will continue throughout the upcoming week with highs in the 90s and lows in the upper 70s.

Keeping an eye on the tropics

The area of thunderstorms in the Caribbean continues to slowly organize, now with a 90 percent chance of tropical development within the next few days. There is still a considerable amount of uncertainty as to where this storm will go, however, a very strong ridge of high pressure is favoring to take the storm well east of the Texas coastline.

We'll continue to monitor the situation, but as always, be prepared for any potential storm ahead of time.
