A flash flood watch is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday for Walker, Burleson, Brazos, Washington and Grimes counties, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain is expected to move back into the picture as early as Monday night.
It will stay mostly cloudy through the morning, and by the afternoon we’ll see some scattered showers start to pop up ahead of the cold front moving in from the northwest.
Northern and western counties may see a chance for some stronger thunderstorms and downpours as the system moves in.
Tuesday brings more rain showers as the front stalls and triggers on-and-off showers and thunderstorms though most of the day.
The rest of the week will bring only slight rain chances, mainly in the afternoons as we get to the hottest part of the day.
Highs will sit right around 80 most of the week.
