Another wet day forecast for Houston

HOUSTON – After storms produced significant flooding across Houston on Wednesday, another day of wet weather is expected Thursday.

Meteorologist Britta Merwin said rainfall rates of about a half-inch per hour are possible Thursday morning, with a total rainfall of up to an inch possible.

The rain will coincide with the morning commute, making many roads slick.

Officials said Little Cypress Creek is over its banks, and the surrounding area could experience minor flooding.

Drier and warmer weather is expected Friday, before another chance for showers Friday evening.

Abundant sunshine returns to the area by Sunday.
