Pastor’s daughter shot arriving home from church; boyfriend uses car to stop suspected shooter

A chaotic situation involving three people who recently attended the same church in east Houston has led one man to face serious charges. A man is accused of shooting a 19-year-old woman outside of her east Houston home. He allegedly confronted her outside her house after she returned home from a church service, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened around 9:37 p.m. on April 14, in the 2100 block of Hartwick Road. The victim’s boyfriend reportedly witnessed the shooting. After the shots were fired, he ran over the suspect in a reported attempt to defend his partner and disarm the suspect. The suspect in the incident has been identified as Emanuel Marin, 24. Marin is facing charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, according to the district attorney’s office.
