Southwest Airlines kicks off 72-hour fare sale

HOUSTON – For three days, you’ll be able to get steep discounts on travel to more than 40 destinations aboard Southwest Airlines.

The company kicked off its 72-hour airfare sale Tuesday morning.

Passengers can fly from Hobby Airport to places like Chicago, Washington, Las Vegas and Los Angeles for reduced prices. There weren't any international destinations on the list.

The lowest one-way fare on the list was $49 to some of the close locales. The highest one-way fare was $129 to places in the western U.S.

Tickets must be booked by Thursday to take advantage of the discounted fares.
