The Houston Housing Authority’s waitlist for housing vouchers has grown to more than 18,000 families. The agency is now clarifying its roles, emphasizing that individuals must take action to maintain their place on the list.

The Houston Housing Authority opened applications for a spot on its waitlist for public housing on Jan. 15, 2023, and as of Friday, the agency says more than 26,000 people have submitted applications.
