Indiana officials add 143 deaths to coronavirus toll, up 40% in past month
The Indiana Department of Health’s daily update showed coronavirus hospitalizations going back over 3,000 as of Monday after falling below that mark on Friday for the first time since Nov. 16. The COVID-19 hospitalizations are down about 10% since peaking Nov. 30 but remain nearly four times higher than in September when the state’s illness surge began.chicagotribune.com
Why your kids are revved up about the Fortnite update
A long-awaited update for Fortnite looks like it is finally getting the green light. After a few delays, regular cars is going to be added to Fortnite by Epic Games on Wednesday, according to Engadget. While Fortnite’s map has had bikes, hoverboards, planes and shopping carts, cars have been absent until now. Epic Games was forced to delay the update due to technical problems, leading to weeks of speculation over when the update will arrive. Here’s the trailer video for the “Joyride” update:
UPDATE: Why we have to watch for flooding this weekend
This is an update to Monday’s blog as of Tuesday morning, as models have shifted heavier rain over Southeast Texas. I know you don’t want me bringing this up, but you’re going to start hearing about flood potential in Texas this weekend and I want you to know why. First, look at the jet streams which are way north and way south of Texas. This same model has shifted heavy into our region for Saturday Night into Sunday Morning.
