Former D-I Athlete Joins Houston Christian as Head Baseball Coach
Former baseball player for The University of Texas, Beau O'Hara, will formally take the reins of Houston Christian High School's baseball team this fall after serving as assistant coach for four years and interim head coach during the 2020-21 season, as well as a football assistant coach. O'Hara led the Mustangs to a record 15 - 11 wins this last season. The program had a team pitching ERA of 2.89 and went 8-1 in the final month of the season.
University of Texas Longhorn band wonโt play โEyes of Texasโ this weekend after some members say theyโre unwilling
The Daily Texan reported that a message sent to band members by leader Scott Hanna said the survey results wouldnโt affect whether the band performs at future games. Band members are โevenly dividedโ overplaying the song, the student newspaper reported, but responses from certain instrument sections would prevent the band from playing this week. The message from Hanna said many band members wanted to have further discussions about the song, which he said he would facilitate. Only then can we reimagine its future.โRemoving โThe Eyes of Texasโ song was not the studentโs only demand this past summer. UT-Austin is asking all students to self-quarantine for 14 days before returning to campus
AUSTIN, Texas The University of Texas has requested that all students self-quarantine for 14 days before returning to campus for the fall semester, due to the growing number of coronavirus cases in Austin. The universitys goal is to help prevent COVID-19 infections from spreading across its campus when students return to campus on Aug. 24. The new policy asks for students to stay home and limit in-person interactions throughout the two-week period. UT Austin provided a link for students about how to self-quarantine. Faculty and staff members can also go to the provider of their choice The app will also allow users to note their location when they enter or exit any campus room or office.
