Thursday was an emotional evening at the Houston Independent School District’s board meeting.

Santa Fe ISD shared on its Facebook page said a cyber event over the weekend caused a “network interruption which is affecting internet and phone service" throughout the district.

"While we continue to see progress in other areas - which is a testament to the dedication and skill of our Texas educators - it’s clear that math performance is not where students need it to be for success after graduation,” TEA Commissioner Mike Morath said.

Test results showed a steady performance compared to previous years, but showed slight declines in meeting grade-level percentages for U.S. History.
