Transit police in Boston are investigating a shooting on a subway platform near Harvard University that prompted the school to issue a shelter-in-place order for students and staff.

President Donald Trump’s supporters are echoing some of the rhetoric and actions that elsewhere have preceded attacks on the judiciary as the courts deliver a series of setbacks to his dramatic attempt to change the federal government without congressional approval.

Two senior federal judges, both appointed by Republican presidents, have spoken out against threats of violence and impeachment against their colleagues in the judiciary.

“It’s hard to ask for help, but when you got to have help you’ve got to have help,” Richard said, with his voice shaking and tears in his eyes.
