Advocates, some AGs wary of Purdue Pharma bankruptcy plan
A group of nearly half the state attorneys general said it was disappointed in the plan Purdue filed late Monday night in federal bankruptcy court and some said they would seek changes. Members of the Sackler family who own Purdue would contribute about $4.3 billion. AdCynthia Munger, of Wayne, Pennsylvania, said Purdue's plan is too focused on providing legal protections for members of the Sackler family. On a Facebook Live video Tuesday, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, a Democrat, said the payment from Sackler family members was too little. AdIn recent letters to a congressional committee, Sackler family members said those who previously served on Purdue's board of directors had combined net assets of $1.1 billion.
Indiana fires Miller, raises private money to cover buyout

Athletic director: Wisconsin has 22 positive COVID-19 cases
MADISON, Wis. โ Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez says the total number of positive COVID-19 cases within the Badgersโ football program has increased to 22. Alvarez told ESPNโs โCollege GameDayโ on Saturday that 12 football players and 10 staffers have tested positive. Wisconsin announced Wednesday that six players and six staffers โ including head coach Paul Chryst โ had tested positive since Oct. 24, the day after its season-opening 45-7 victory over Illinois. School officials updated that number Thursday by saying two more staffers and one additional player had tested positive. The Thursday update indicated the football program had a total of 16 active cases, and that 15 of them had come since Oct. 24.
